IN MEMORIAM - James (Jim) Chen

I am very sad to report that James (Jim) Chen passed away last week of natural causes.

Jim was a long-standing member of Vancouver Aikikai and the Canadian Aikido community. Many will remember him from Kawahara Sensei's seminars; he practiced Aikido diligently and constantly until a short time before his passing.
Jim's dedication to Aikido was unaffected by increasing age and in this he can be an example to all of us. He was also a dedicated Judo practitioner and teacher.
Jim was beloved by Vancouver Aikikai members. He touched our lives by his passion, energy, kindness, and wit. I remember fondly my conversations with Jim, we were able to share a lot with only a few words.
We all mourn Jim's passing; he will be greatly missed. Vancouver Aikikai's next class will be dedicated to his memory.
May he rest in peace.
